5kW, Redundant DC/DC Converter delivers
up to 300Vdc Absopulse Electronics’ BAP 5K Series is a rugged, modular, DC/DC converter system that uses field-proven technology to deliver up to 5000W output power, depending on the input/output configuration. The system accepts input voltages of 24Vdc, 48Vdc or 125Vdc and provides any single DC-output from 12Vdc to 300Vdc. The fully loaded shelf can hold up to seven internal modules, which provide inherent redundancy; the failure of one module would only cause a minor loss in output power. Multiple output versions can be achieved by combining various internal modules. Several shelves can also be paralleled for higher output power. The BAP 5K is filtered to meet EN 55022, class A EMI, with wide margins. Full electronic protection eliminates the possibility of failure due to abnormal operating conditions, including application errors. Designed for heavy-duty industrial environments, the BAP 5K meets IEC61371 Cat 1 A&B shock and vibration standards. It is fan-cooled and housed in a 19” rack-mount enclosure; a chassis-mount version is also available. Additional ruggedizing and conformal coating are available for operation in humid environments. Other options include module fail alarm/output fail alarm, remote shut down, Class B EMI filtering and extended temperature ranges. For detailed specifications, please see datasheet above (right).
