Press Releases - New Absopulse Designs
Encapsulated DC/DC Converter delivers 400W in Extreme Environments.

Industrial, Oil & gas, Mining, Utility and Transportation environments.

Absopulse Electronics has introduced the PDC 400, a recent addition to its line of rugged, encapsulated DC/DC converters. Designed for operation in extreme environments, it is well suited to transportation, industrial, oil & gas, mining and utility environments. The unit can be adapted to meet EN 50155 railway specifications.

The PDC 400 is fully encapsulated in a thermally conductive MIL-spec. silicon rubber compound to ensure immunity to high levels of shock, vibration and moisture. It is designed to meet IEC 61373 Categories 1 A & B shock and vibration standards. It is rated for continuous operation in a -40°C to 70°C temperature range when installed on a heat-sinking surface.

This 400W converter utilizes field-proven push-pull topology to deliver 12V, 24V, 36V or 48Vdc and it can be operated from 24V, 36V or 48V or 125Vdc supply voltages. Other input and output options are available on request.

The PDC 400 is filtered to meet EN 55022 Class B EMI and is designed to meet EN 60950 and related standards. The unit features inrush current limiting and surge protection on the input. Output protection includes current limiting with short-circuit protection and thermal shutdown with self-resetting. Combined line and load regulation are ±1% from no load to full load.
