Rugged, low-profile power supply with PFC-input delivers up to 3000W or 400A
Absopulse Electronics’ LVS 2U5 is a rugged, ac/dc power supply with power factor corrected (PFC) input developed for high current, low voltage applications typical of industrial, utility, microwave and telecom environments.
The LVS 2U5 delivers a fixed voltage of between 3Vdc and 15Vdc, with a maximum current of 400A or maximum power of 3000W, (maximum values supported by the design). A 12V output version would, for instance, provide 3000W at 250A; a 3V version, 1200W at 400A. Versions rated at the higher end of the power range, such as the 3000W unit, require a 230Vac (180V to 264Vac) input voltage while lower power ratings accept universal input voltages of 95V to 264Vac. The flexible design of the LVS 2U5 allows for quick, cost-efficient configuration to customer specifications prior to delivery.
The power factor is corrected to a minimum of 0.97 at full load for the entire input range in compliance with the EN6100-3-2 directive for low input harmonic distortion. The LVS 2U5 is filtered to meet EN55022 Class A EMI as a minimum, and, with additional (optional) filtering, will meet Class B.
Features include output ripple/noise of less than 1% peak-to-peak, combined line/load regulation of less than ±1% from zero load to full load, active inrush current limiting and over-voltage protection. Minimum efficiency is 80% at full load.
The LVS 2U5 is fan-cooled and rated for full specification for temperatures of 0ºC to 50ºC, with extended temperature ranges available. It is housed in a robust 2U x 19” x 18” rack-mount enclosure weighing 8.85kg.
