Compact UPS Plug-in Module Provides
24VDC Regulated Power
Absopulse Electronics has recently released the REW60-24, a 24VDC single output compact UPS plug-in module with an AC input range of 95V to 264VAC. During normal operation, this switch mode unit float charges an external 24V gel-cell or sealed lead acid battery. In the event of AC power failure, the battery powers the load via an electronic regulator which typically provides a 4A current limit on the 60W output at full load (2.5A).
This highly regulated UPS is suitable for applications requiring very low output noise. Output ripple is 10mV peak-to-peak (maximum) and it meets the requirements for EN55022 Class B EMI emissions. This unit also serves as a power conditioner, blocking surges, spikes and transients while maintaining stable voltage.
Built-in protection circuits include reverse battery protection, low battery voltage disconnect to protect the battery from deep discharge, inrush current limiting, over-voltage protection and current limiting with short circuit protection. The unit is designed to meet the requirements for international safety approval agencies such as IEC950, CSA22.2-950 and UL1950.
Measuring 3Ux16HPx160mm, this plug-in module has a locking switch for battery power, as well as LED indicators for normal operation and AC fail located on the front-panel. The system is convection cooled and rated for operation over 0-50°C.
The REW60-24 UPS system can be customized for a wide range of specifications. Ruggedizing and conformal coating are also available for operation in harsh environmental conditions.

500VA, AC Power Source provides Variable Frequency VFC500
Absopulse Electronics has recently released the VFC500, a 500VA AC power source with variable frequency in the range of 47Hz and 424Hz, and output voltage continuously adjustable from 0V to 260VAC.
The VFC500 is well suited for use in a diverse range of industrial and laboratory applications including simulating voltage and frequency deviations for equipment under development, verifying operation for export markets, and safety approval testing.
The VFC500 uses PWM technology to deliver a pure sine-wave output from any available AC line input: 115VAC at 400Hz, 120VAC at 60Hz or 240VAC at 50Hz. Harmonic distortion of the output wave-shape is less than 5% at full load and frequency stability is ± 0.1%. The output is fully isolated from the input and may either be used in floating mode or in grounded neutral operation.
The unit is fan-cooled and is rated for operation over a 0°C to 50°C temperature range. It features full electronic protection, high efficiency and low output noise.
The VFC500 is designed to meet international safety approvals including IEC950, CSA22-2-950 and UL1950. Both AC input and output are highly filtered to meet the requirements for EN55022 Class B EMI emissions.
Housed in an 8.5" x 5.1" x 14" enclosed case, the unit weighs 9 pounds.

Rugged, Dual Output, DC/DC Converter Provides 150W for Railway and other Harsh Environments. RWY 72
Absopulse Electronics' RWY 72 is a dual output DC/DC converter developed specifically to meet the stringent requirements for electrical and electronic equipment used on rolling stock. This rugged power supply is also well suited for use in mining, marine, military and other adverse environments where resistance against humidity, moisture, shock and vibration are required.
The RWY 72 delivers 150W precision regulated DC output from a 120VDC input (67-138VDC range), using an advanced switch mode power conversion forward topology. The two outputs are floating, and are isolated from the chassis and from each other for 1500VDC. Depending upon application requirements, the outputs can be used in a variety of configurations: as two separate outputs, or connected in series to double the voltage or connected in parallel to provide higher current.
This design meets all requirements of EN50155 (IEC571) "Electronic Equipment Used on Rolling Stock Equipment". EMI performance exceeds the requirements for EN55022 Class B with a wide margin for both radiated and conducted measurements.
Combined line-and-load regulation is ±1% from no load to full load for the main output, with the secondary output tracking. The RWY72 operates within a -40°C to +70°C temperature range without de-rating, with 1.7% de-rating per °C up to 100°C.
Measuring 7.0" x 4.1" x 2.26", the RWY72 is fully encapsulated in a thermally conductive MIL-spec. silicon rubber compound, and weighs 1.27kg.
Other converters in this series include the RWY70 and RWY105. These have a proven track record in many major rail and industrial projects in North America, Europe and Australia, and MTBF for these units typically exceeds 300,000 hours at 45°C.

2000VA Line Drop-out Switch for
Short Interruption Immunity Testing
LDT2000
Absopulse Electronics has recently released the LDT2000, an electronic switch designed for short interruption immunity testing. The unit is suitable for designing and developing power supplies, UPS systems, control and alarm systems, communication devices and computers. It can also, for instance, provide a quick, accurate determination of hold-up time, a key parameter in power supply design.
With a load-carrying capacity of 2000VA (30A max), the LDT2000 uses micro-controller technology to generate periodic or single interruptions of the main voltage with a drop-out time adjustment range from 0 to 25 periods of AC input voltage, in 0.1 period steps. It accepts input voltages of 115VAC at 60Hz or 400Hz and 230VAC at 50Hz, with automatic set-up at turn-on.
Interruptions are synchronized in reference to the zero crossing and can be set with the phase-delay adjustment push-buttons in 3 degree steps from 0 to 180 electrical degrees. Crystal controlled for accuracy, the desired phase delay and drop-out time are indicated by 3-digit LEDs. The unit has two isolated signals, one which allows for synchronization to a scope, the other for monitoring output voltage.
The LDT2000 is designed to meet the IEC 1000-4-11 requirements for short interruption immunity testing.
Measuring 2U(3.5") high and 6.2" deep, the LDT2000 mounts in a standard 19" rack with terminations on the rear-panel.

BAP5500 data-sheet

High Performance DC/DC Converter for almost any
Input/Output Configuration Requirement up to a maximum of 5,500W. BAP 5500
Absopulse Electronics' recently released BAP5500 is a high performance power supply system designed to provide virtually any input/output voltage configuration up to a maximum of 5,500W (4,714W with redundancy).
Standard input voltages are 24V, 48V, 125V, 25OV and 360VDC, with other input voltages available upon request. The system delivers any DC output voltage in the range of 12VDC to 800VDC. Multiple outputs are also possible.
The fully loaded BAP5500 shelf can hold up to seven modules, and each of them can be separated by a redundancy diode. Failure of a single module, which would be signaled by a built-in alarm, would only cause 1/7 loss of power from a fully assembled shelf.
The unit is fan-cooled and provides rated output power over a temperature range of 0°C to 50°C. Forced thermal current sharing ensures equalized module temperature, improving system MTBF.
Combined line-and-load regulation is between ±1% and ± 2% depending on output voltage, and output ripple noise is better than 1% peak-to-peak. Protection on the output includes over-voltage protection, and current limiting with short circuit protection and a self-resetting thermostat for thermal protection.
The BAP5500 is ruggedized to withstand very high levels of shock and vibration, and is designed to meet international safety approvals including IEC950, CSA22-2-950 and UL 1950. The unit also meets the requirements for EN55022 Class A EMI emissions as a minimum.
Measuring 3U(5.25") high and 16" deep, the BAP5500 mounts in a standard 19" rack with terminations on the rear-panel.
Several BAP5500 units can be stacked and connected in series/parallel on the output for output power in multiples of 5500W.
Options such as N+1 redundancy, remote shut-down, output voltage adjustability, extended temperature ranges and various alarms are also available upon request.
