MIL-STD-461 Frequency Converter for
Critical Applications in Severe Environments
Absopulse Electronics’ 500VA sine wave frequency converter, the FC500-C, converts an auto-ranging input of 115/230VAC (±15%) at 47 … 63Hz, to 115Vrms/4.34A at 60Hz. This output can be adjusted within a 105V to 130VAC range via an internal potentiometer.
The FC500-C meets the stringent requirements of MIL-STD 461, making it suitable for various military platforms and installations as well as for other critical applications requiring very low conducted and radiated EMI. This system has additional ruggedizing and conformal coating to ensure immunity to shock and vibration in harsh environments.
The FC500-C system incorporates high frequency PWM technology to synthesize a regulated sinusoidal wave-form with less than 5% total harmonic distortion at full load. The unit is fan-cooled and rated for operation over 0°C to 50°C. Extended temperature ranges are also available. The FC500-C is housed in a ruggedly constructed 6.25”x5.9”x16.75” enclosure and weighs 10.9kg.
The FC500-C is designed to meet international safety approvals including C22.2 No.107.1-01, UL458 and EN60950. Protection on the unit includes current limiting, short circuit protection, thermal shut-down with automatic recovery in case of insufficient airflow and MOV protection for input surges.
A Form-C alarm, hardware for assembly in a 3Ux19” shelf and remote shut-down are available as options.
Other frequency converters in this line include 1500VA, 3000VA, 6000VA and 12000VA models with either single or three phase inputs and outputs. Absopulse also offers an extensive range of single and three-phase sine-wave inverters from 30VA to over 10kVA.

2000W Power Supply Delivers up to 300Vdc
Designed for high voltage applications, Absopulse Electronics’ HVC2k ac/dc power supply employs high frequency conversion technology to deliver 85Vdc, 125Vdc, 136Vdc, 250Vdc, 270Vdc or 300Vdc from a 115/230Vac input.
This 2000W unit can be configured for between one and three regulated outputs. A built-in redundancy diode allows for parallel connection to achieve higher output power or N+1 redundancy. This feature also makes the unit suitable for battery charging applications.
The HVC2k is ruggedly constructed in a 5.3” x 7.5” x 15.5” chassis. The unit is fan cooled and rated for operation over a 0°C to 50°C temperature range at full power without de-rating, with extended temperature ranges available as an option. Conformal coating and ruggedizing are also available for operation in extreme environments.
This power supply features high efficiency, low output noise and full electronic protection. It is designed to meet international safety approval requirements including IEC950, CSA22-2-950 and UL1950. It also meets EN55022 Class A EMI emissions regulations as a minimum.
Absopulse also offers a range of power supplies with output voltages as high as 400Vdc. Custom versions for other voltages are also available.

Three-Phase Sine Wave Inverter
Delivers 6000VA
Absopulse Electronics’ CTP6000 series inverter delivers three-phase, 6000VA precision regulated sinusoidal voltage from single phase, 24, 48, 125 or 250VDC inputs. This rugged inverter is ideal for driving AC appliances in industrial, utility, telecom and marine environments, and is also well suited for use in fuel cell, solar cell and wind power conversion systems.
This solid state inverter incorporates microprocessor controlled high frequency PWM technology to synthesize precision regulated sinusoidal outputs of 208Vrms, 380Vrms or 415Vrms (phase-to-phase) at 50, 60 or 400Hz, with less than 5% total harmonic distortion at full load. The floating outputs are isolated from each other and can be connected in a ‘Y’ configuration or left as three individual outputs. In ‘Y’ configuration, the centre point (neutral) can be grounded.
The CTP6000 is filtered to meet the requirements for EN55022 Class B (typically) in versions where the input current is less than 70A. The unit is designed to meet international safety approvals including C22.2 No.107.1-01, UL458 and EN60950. Protection includes current limiting, short circuit protection and thermal shut-down with automatic recovery in case of insufficient airflow.
The CTP6000 is fan-cooled and rated for operation over 0°C to 50°C with -40°C to +60°C available as an option. This inverter is housed in four, stacked 3U x 19” x 15” enclosed chassis.
Absopulse also offers an extensive range of other single and three-phase sine-wave inverters from 30VA to 12kVA .
