Three-phase to three-phase Frequency Converter Supplies 12kVA Sine-wave Voltage
Absopulse Electronics’ FTT 12000 frequency converter delivers 12kVA, three-phase sinusoidal voltage from a three-phase input. This unit was designed for the conversion of three-phase, 208Vrms/60Hz inputs to three-phase 380Vrms/50Hz outputs, or conversely, of 380Vrms to 208Vrms. The FTT 12000 can also be modified for various output voltages and for 400Hz applications. The output phases are connected in “Y” configuration and can either be grounded or left floating.
The system incorporates high frequency PWM technology to synthesize a precision regulated sinusoidal wave-form with less than 5% total harmonic distortion at full load. The unit is fan-cooled and rated for operation over 0°C to 50°C. Extended temperature ranges are also available. This frequency converter is housed in four, stacked 4U x 19” x 15” enclosed chassis, three for the AC/DC conversion and one for the DC/AC conversion. The entire system weighs 72kg.
The FTT 12000 is filtered to meet the requirements for EN55022 Class A emissions as a minimum. It is designed to meet international safety approvals including C22.2 No.107.1-01, UL458 and EN60950. Protection includes current limiting, short circuit protection and thermal shut-down with automatic recovery in case of insufficient airflow.
Various options for this system include adjustment for output voltages, variable frequencies, alarms and remote controls.
Other frequency converters in this line include 1500VA, 3000VA and 6000VA models, available with either single or three phase inputs and outputs. Absopulse also offers an extensive range of single and three-phase sine-wave inverters in the 30VA to 10kVA power range.

Rugged, Low-profile, (PFC)Power Factor Corrected Converter Delivers 700W
Absopulse Electronics’ PFC700 series was designed for heavy-duty applications requiring power factor corrected input and a rugged design.
The PFC700 utilizes asynchronous technology for the PFC-input stage and half-bridge topology after the input stage to deliver 700W from a 90V to 264VAC input (47…64Hz). It is rated for 12VDC at 60A continuous duty.
The power factor is corrected to a minimum of 0.98 at full load for the entire input range. The PFC700 meets EN6100-3-2 directive for low input harmonic distortion mandated for European markets. It is highly filtered on the input and output to meet EN55022 Class A EMI requirements as a minimum. A Class B option is also available. The unit is designed to meet international safety approvals including IEC950, CSA22-2-950 and UL 1950.
Combined line-and-load regulation without sensing is less than ±1% from zero load to full load and output ripple noise is better than 100mV peak-to-peak. Protection on the input and output includes inrush current limiting, over-voltage protection, current limiting with short circuit protection and a self-resetting thermostat for thermal protection. Minimum efficiency is 80% at full load.
The PFC700 is housed in a low-profile, 2.17”x8.2”x10” enclosure and weighs 2.7kg. It is fan-cooled and rated for operation over 0°C to 50°C without de-rating.
This power supply system can be customized for a wide range of specifications. Options include an internal redundancy diode, wider temperature ranges and additional ruggedizing for immunity to shock and vibration.
